JPR was approached by the owners of Damping Technologies, Inc. to help them develop a solution to reuse, renovate, and expand one of their current facilities – making it their main headquarters. The project would allow the company to consolidate the total workforce from two locations into a single 40,000-square-foot facility.
JPR was challenged with converting a portion of the premanufactured steel building into a corporate office suite. The design included a complete aesthetic renovation while taking advantage of the existing structural system. The corporate suite includes offices, an executive conference room, workspaces, and a main lobby and waiting area. The renovation also created an iconic exterior look to distinguish it from the attached industrial portion of the facility.
The project also included the addition of a premanufactured steel building to house some of the specialized program requirements encompassing lab testing areas, research and development, material production, and fabrication. A centralized open-plan office area was also requested to be retrofitted into the existing warehouse space.
The overall project exemplifies JPR’s ability to design for renovation, expansion, and new construction creatively and effectively.
