The Valparaiso Lakes Area Conservancy District approached JPR to conduct a stormwater study for a neighborhood, approximately 20-acres, consisting of roughly 80 homes north of Flint Lake. This location is known as Blackhawk Beach.
The older neighborhood consisted of rural roads and an infrastructure that appeared to have been installed in a piecemeal fashion to address specific issues – but not the area as a whole. In addition to utilities, JPR’s team analyzed the existing drainage patterns, soils information, and local ordinances, and formulated a Recommended Action Plan. This included solutions to drainage issues, phasing for the overall project, and a preliminary estimated cost.
